But before we got out dog collars all tied up, First Dog Watch decided to do some investigation and, actually, it turns out that Bo Obama isn’t the first First Family pet to NOT appear in the “official White House” family photo.

In our search for First Family photos with First Pets, we were hard pressed to find any “official” photos with the First Family and their pets. We know that the Clintons loved First Dog, Buddy, and First Cat, Socks, but they didn’t appear in any photos. So while we would have loved to have seen Bo Obama in the Annie Leibovitz photo, it’s not that unusual. Besides, the First Grandmother is also missing!
