First Dog Bo at 6 weeks

Martha Stern, First Dog Bo Obama’s breeder, died last week at the age of 72. Reportedly, she and her husband, Art, have been superb Portuguese Water Dog breeders since the 1980s. They said that were inspired after watching the breed on the Westminster Dog Show.

Like all great lovers of dogs, the Sterns have asked that contrubutions not be sent to their business, the Amigo Portuguese Water Dog Kennel in Boyd, TX, but rather to the Portuguese Water Dog Foundation, Inc. or AKC Caninie Health Foundation.

We know that Mrs. Stern is smiling in that big Portuguese Water Dog Heaven above. Ruff! Ruff!
