Now Bo’s Christmas wishes have all come true! His family, the Obamas, has returned from their warm Christmas vacation in Hawaii and it looks like they are ready to give our boy lots of kisses and belly rubs. Just look at that smile on First Daughter, Malia’s face and it’s obvious how much our boy is loved!
The White House, First Dog Bo’s home, was hopping on Halloween! With approximately 2,000 visitors gathered to indulge in tasty sweets, First Lady Michelle Obama showed off her purrrrfect costume as a kitty cat. We know that that is the best companion costume to our boy BO’s year-long costume of adorable doggy-ness. We salute the First Lady for being a great mommy and thinking of the family dog on a day when the focus is usually on the kids. Bow Wow!
Since First Dog Bo came to the White House in April, the First Family has had an abundance of advice on how to take care of BO. But what about dog-to-dog advice on how to be a First Dog. Well, check out Rex, First Dog to Mary Armour, President of Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. Watch and listen as Rex barks out some great tips to Bo on how to truly be the First Dog of the United States:-) Source: Youtube
First Lady, Michelle Obama, was on The Jay Leno Show in a segment called Ten@10, where celebrities are asked ten random questions, as well as, promote their cause. In the case of the First Lady, she talked about the importance of “service” (or volunteering) in everyday life. Jay also asked insightful questions like what Sasha and Malia are wearing for Halloween, Brady Bunch trivia and, of course, about First Dog Bo.
The First Lady talked about Bo’s birthday party in the Rose Garden. She talked about Bo’s cake, shaped like a doghouse made out of “veal stuff”, and how Bo’s brother, Cappy, stole most of the stuff off of the table. It’s so nice to hear that our boy Bo is living the dream!
Since we haven’t been given any new shots of our boy First Dog Bo, we have to resign ourselves to surfing the web in search of fresh stories. While doing our due diligence, we came across this great drawing our the Obama dog’s first days in the White House. Remember that shot of President Obama and the family’s new puppy spending some quality time together running through the halls of the West Wing. It’s pretty cute so check it out…
Well, well, well, in the new pics of the Obama Family – the “official” White House family photo that is- the First Dog is missing! But before we got out dog collars all tied up, First Dog Watch decided to do some investigation and, actually, it turns out that Bo Obama isn’t the first First Family pet to NOT appear in the “official White House” family photo.
In our search for First Family photos with First Pets, we were hard pressed to find any “official” photos with the First Family and their pets. We know that the Clintons loved First Dog, Buddy, and First Cat, Socks, but they didn’t appear in any photos. So while we would have loved to have seen Bo Obama in the Annie Leibovitz photo, it’s not that unusual. Besides, the First Grandmother is also missing!
On Tuesday night, October 13, 2009, the Obamas hosted “Fiesta Latina” at the White House as part of the administration’s music series and in celebration of Hispanic Heritage month. While the family danced and clapped their hands, we think our boy, First Dog Bo, was at home eager to show his own Salsa skills. He may be a canine, but we are sure he could have “busted a move.” Perhaps the First Daughters, Sasha and Malia, are discussing whether their dog Bo could do it or not…
Since our First Dog, Bo, insist on hiding himself in the White House, FDW has decided to share one of the funnist dog videos we have scene in a long time. Enjoy!
…Play with Oprah’s dogs?! While the First Lady AND Oprah were in Copenhagen for their unsuccessful bid for the 2016 Olympics, FDW was wondering where is First Dog Bo? Perhaps there was a playdate for Bo in the deal to have his mommy (and daddy leave for a day). If that’s what a dog has to suffer for abandonment (we know we are pushing it), then we think it was worth it. Besides, Oprah has twenty dogs (just kidding) so we think he had a ball!
