First Dog Bo’s mother, First Lady Michelle Obama, surprised shoppers today at a Fresh Grocer in North Philadelphia. The First Lady, along with Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, visited the grocery chain to bring awareness to her childhood obesity awareness program by picking from the store’s fresh and inexpensive selection. The Fresh Grocer is known to offer high quality fruits and vegetables in their stores which are largely located in low-income neighborhoods where childhood obesity is the highest. Looks like the First Lady will be bringing some of those fresh vegetables back for our boy Bo. We recommend the celery as it’s the closest vegetable to resemble a stick and we know how much dogs like to gnaw on sticks. Source: Huffington Post
The First ladies of the family had a nice time this past weekend at Ski Liberty, a resort in Pennsylvania. While the President was busy running the country, the First Lady and First Daughters spent the weekend on the girls’ first ski trip. Where was First Dog Bo? We hope he was back at the White House giving the President some of that precious doggie love….Source: The Herald Mail
During the famous surprise that First Lady Michelle Obama gave visitors to the White House, we see that our boy First Dog Bo is indeed the head of the family. Many visitors were very excited to meet the First Lady of course but we think that the First Dog upstaged her mostly. The First Lady didn’t mind as she referred to the First Dog as ‘Bo-Bo’ and tried numerous times to call him back to her side so that she could make the proper introductions to the visitors. First Lady, Michelle Obama, spoke to a group of young people last week at a YMCA in Alexandria, VA and we at First Dog Watch thinks that her outfit looks very, very familiar…
Madame Tussauds Wax Museum is the bearer of First Dogs new shiny gift – wax figures of President Obama and First Lady Michelle! These are some sweet gifts. Just look at that shiny lacquered coating and we can imagine our boy Bo jumping on these figures and licking their legs, hands and faces…you know, all the lovely things that our dogs do for us:-)
President Obama cut short his golf game while on his winter vacation in Hawaii yesterday. Apparently, ambulance was called to the rented home the Obamas are using. The president was very concerned that First Daughters, Sasha or Malia or the First Lady may have been injured. False alarm as it turns out that a friend of the Obama family was injured while walking on the beach.
Now if First Dog Bo had been there, he would have given the alarm of any impending “beach injury” with an adorable bark! Instead our boy is probably looking adorable while chewing on the one of his toys. Source: AFP and Michelle Obama Watch
Last night on “Barbara Walter’s Present’s 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009“, the First Dog’s mommy, First Lady Michelle Obama, was named the “most fascinating person” of 2009! In the beginning of the interview, Ms. Walters asked the First Lady about Bo and she gushed, “…he’s great, he’s my baby…” when she was interrupted, the First Lady joked that she was like a proud mother who can’t stop talking about her kids….awwww! So nice to know that our boy Bo is getting all the love a dog deserves:-) Source: ABC
Looks like our boy Bo’s adorable habits are rubbing off on the First Lady. Just look how Mrs. Obama is about chow down on First Daughter, Sasha’s arm. One look at her eyes and it’s easy to see a little resemblance to the First Dog’s look right before he bounces on a nice treat:-)
Last week, First Lady Michelle Obama visited the Energy Department last week and looked fabulous! We all know the First Lady is somewhat of a style icon but FDW thinks that her outfit on this particular outing looked very “familiar”… Source: Huffington Post
Oh, we remember…
The White House, First Dog Bo’s home, was hopping on Halloween! With approximately 2,000 visitors gathered to indulge in tasty sweets, First Lady Michelle Obama showed off her purrrrfect costume as a kitty cat. We know that that is the best companion costume to our boy BO’s year-long costume of adorable doggy-ness. We salute the First Lady for being a great mommy and thinking of the family dog on a day when the focus is usually on the kids. Bow Wow!
