We haven’t seen our boy First Dog Bo in awhile but the White House released these new images recently. It looks like our boy is living a wonderful and enviable life:-) Source: White House.gov
Despite being one of the most popular First Dog’s in American history, First Dog Bo is also apparently one of the most heroic. After the success of it’s last graphic novel, “Puppy Power: Bo Obama” about the First Dog, Bluewater Publications decided it needed a new one to highlight our boy’s power. This book, entitled “Bo Obama: The White House Tails”, goes a little bit further into the “peoples house”. By following the First Dog, who narrates the 40-page story, we learn about the day to day aspects of the White House happenings, the history of presidential pets and a guided tour of the executive mansion.
Infact, our boy Bo is so popular, that the book sold out last month. A new printing has been ordered so if you haven’t gotten a copy yet, don’t fret. Source: Bluewater Publications
So we know that our boy First Dog Bo has been freezing his paws off in that horrible D.C. snow these past few weeks. Here are some gift ideas for those of us thinking of sending him a little pick me up…
First Dog Bo’s mother, First Lady Michelle Obama, surprised shoppers today at a Fresh Grocer in North Philadelphia. The First Lady, along with Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, visited the grocery chain to bring awareness to her childhood obesity awareness program by picking from the store’s fresh and inexpensive selection. The Fresh Grocer is known to offer high quality fruits and vegetables in their stores which are largely located in low-income neighborhoods where childhood obesity is the highest. Looks like the First Lady will be bringing some of those fresh vegetables back for our boy Bo. We recommend the celery as it’s the closest vegetable to resemble a stick and we know how much dogs like to gnaw on sticks. Source: Huffington Post
The First ladies of the family had a nice time this past weekend at Ski Liberty, a resort in Pennsylvania. While the President was busy running the country, the First Lady and First Daughters spent the weekend on the girls’ first ski trip. Where was First Dog Bo? We hope he was back at the White House giving the President some of that precious doggie love….Source: The Herald Mail
During the famous surprise that First Lady Michelle Obama gave visitors to the White House, we see that our boy First Dog Bo is indeed the head of the family. Many visitors were very excited to meet the First Lady of course but we think that the First Dog upstaged her mostly. The First Lady didn’t mind as she referred to the First Dog as ‘Bo-Bo’ and tried numerous times to call him back to her side so that she could make the proper introductions to the visitors. Even though most dogs get lots of love and care, it can’t be denied how hard it is to be a dog sometimes. Sometimes a dog is confronted with a choice – hold it a little longer or go outside in the friggin’ cold?! If your dog is well trained then you are very lucky and they will hold it maybe a little while longer and then go outside. Poor First Dog Bo…even with a big luxurious house like the White House, he still has to go outside when he doesn’t want to…hang in there boy, the snow will melt soon:-)
While the east coast is still being bombarded with the cool white stuff, our boy First Dog Bo looks like he is over it! Just look at the look on his face while he walked near the White House Briefing room on Monday. He’s giving us an expression that would make my mother proud like…’this is some bull’. We feel your pain Bo:-)
The east coast may have had a huge snowstorm this past weekend but that didn’t stop First Dog Bo from enjoying some good ole’ snow day activities. Just look how our boy is lapping up all the delicious snow. We bet his precious paws are really enjoying the soft and cool sensation of the fresh snow in the Rose Garden of the White House. Ahhhh, wish we were there! Source: White House.org
First Dog Watch hasn’t seen our boy First Dog Bo in a while but we came upon this little treasure of a picture. Our boy getting just what he deserves – a belly rub in the middle of the day! Life is good for the First Dog! Source: White House.org
