The First ladies of the family had a nice time this past weekend at Ski Liberty, a resort in Pennsylvania. While the President was busy running the country, the First Lady and First Daughters spent the weekend on the girls’ first ski trip. Where was First Dog Bo? Now Bo’s Christmas wishes have all come true! His family, the Obamas, has returned from their warm Christmas vacation in Hawaii and it looks like they are ready to give our boy lots of kisses and belly rubs. Just look at that smile on First Daughter, Malia’s face and it’s obvious how much our boy is loved!

What's Happening?

President Obama cut short his golf game while on his winter vacation in Hawaii yesterday. Apparently, ambulance was called to the rented home the Obamas are using. The president was very concerned that First Daughters, Sasha or Malia or the First Lady may have been injured. False alarm as it turns out that a friend of the Obama family was injured while walking on the beach.

Now if First Dog Bo had been there, he would have given the alarm of any impending “beach injury” with an adorable bark! Instead our boy is probably looking adorable while chewing on the one of his toys. Source: AFP and Michelle Obama Watch

Ahhh, This Is The Life!

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen any PDA between First Daughter Malia and First Dog Bo but that all changed yesterday, December 22, 2009. While visiting the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC, Bo accompanied Malia, her sister, Sasha and First Lady Michelle Obama on a trip to read Christmas stories. Bo, of course, was a huge hit with the kids and we got to see how much our boy Bo is loved, not only by his family but also by the American people. Source: Day Life

Looks like our boy Bo’s adorable habits are rubbing off on the First Lady. Just look how Mrs. Obama is about chow down on First Daughter, Sasha’s arm. One look at her eyes and it’s easy to see a little resemblance to the First Dog’s look right before he bounces on a nice treat:-)

Let Me At That Turkey!

While the President may have kept with tradition by pardoning a turkey in celebration of Thanksgiving, we at FDW think that the First Dog would not have been so generous given how “delicious the turkey looked.” On Wednesday, the president joked that he only agreed to spare the fowl a “terrible and delicious fate” only after First Daughters, Malia and Sasha, begged him to pardon the bird.

First Dog Bo, like all dogs, would have tackled the noble beast in honor of his duty as family dog. But in honor of Thanksgiving we begrudgingly agree with the president. Source: Huffington Post

Looks like the First Family is spending enough time with our boy BO afterall. It seems along with taking our boy to Martha’s Vineyard and other family outings, the Obamas also take the family dog to First Daughter, Malia Obama’s soccer game. By taking our boy to such a low-key event, we know that he is indeed the First Dog. But, unfortunately,  it doesn’t look like Bo’s too interested in the game:-)

Oooo, What's That?

Well, well, well, in the new pics of the Obama Family – the “official” White House family photo that is- the First Dog is missing! But before we got out dog collars all tied up, First Dog Watch decided to do some investigation and, actually, it turns out that Bo Obama isn’t the first First Family pet to NOT appear in the “official White House” family photo.

In our search for First Family photos with First Pets, we were hard pressed to find any “official” photos with the First Family and their pets. We know that the Clintons loved First Dog, Buddy, and First Cat, Socks, but they didn’t appear in any photos. So while we would have loved to have seen Bo Obama in the Annie Leibovitz photo, it’s not that unusual. Besides, the First Grandmother is also missing!

It’s a very sweet picture of a modern American family but the real question is – is the Obama’s Dog white socks growing and destined to take over his whole body? Look at those things…hey Bo, are those your socks or have you been fighting with a Snow Man?

It is often said that eventually we all start to look like our dogs. First Dog Bo is still a pup so he hasn’t had a chance to work his magic yet but which one of the Obama Family will Bo resemble in the future?
