Dogs can smile apparently but this looks a little odd even for an adorable pooch like this Shiba Inu! I wonder what the dog is thinking…

First Lady, Michelle Obama, spoke to a group of young people last week at a YMCA in Alexandria, VA and we at First Dog Watch thinks that her outfit looks very, very familiar…
Media megastar Oprah Winfrey celebrated her 56th birthday today. What do you get a woman who has everything and can probably buy herself whatever she wanted? Well, a puppy of course! But the birthday god didn’t just give Ms. Winfrey one cute puppy but TWO cute PUPPIES. SUNNY and LAUREN, who are rescues from PAWS Rescue in Chicago, made their television debut today on the Oprah Show. We at First Dog Watch would like to wish Ms. Winfrey a happy birthday and say Ruff! Ruff! for getting her puppies from a rescue organization
We’ve all seen those Pedigree Dog Food commercials. You know the ones that put a big-ass smile on your face and make you feel all cuddling inside every time they come on. Well, if you have not had that privilege, take a look at the one above and we at First Dog Watch know you will be shouting, “I would love to give you a belly rub!”
The Cottonelle Puppies are so powerful that they are able to make even C-List stars look good! Normally, Tori and Dean would not warrant a second look from most of our readers but anybody seems interesting while they have an arm full of adorable-ness of puppies!
Actor Peter Dinklage, like any good New York dog owner, was out and about this week giving his dog a brisk walk about. We at First Dog Watch think that Mr. Dinklage must be a top owner as it must not be the easiest thing taking his dog on a good walk, given the frigid temp, the icy sidewalks and the fact that the dog is not a small dog.
We know how heroic our best friends are so it is especially heartwarming to hear that we sometimes return the favor. It seems that during the downpour that poured down on Los Angeles last week, Vernon, a German Shepherd was caught up in the hectic evacuations and was trapped on a piece of driftwood in a river. The poor pooch was very frightened but firefighter Joe St. Georges and helicopter pilot Scott Bowman helped airlift him to safety and delivered him to a local shelter to be treated. Awwww so precious”-)
After the tragedy in Haiti last week, we have all been sending our love and support to the Haitian people and their loved ones affect by the earthquake. First Dog Watch has uncovered how our adorable pooches have been helping out in the rescue effort. Check it out and we are sure your heart will be filled with joy and a desire to help in the recovery effort. Help Haiti Recovery: http://www.helphaitinow.org/
Madame Tussauds Wax Museum is the bearer of First Dogs new shiny gift – wax figures of President Obama and First Lady Michelle! These are some sweet gifts. Just look at that shiny lacquered coating and we can imagine our boy Bo jumping on these figures and licking their legs, hands and faces…you know, all the lovely things that our dogs do for us:-)
